This guide provides the necessary instructions to remove and replace the thermostat of the Mini Cooper with a 1.6 petrol engine. First, open the bonnet of your car and start by removing the plastic cover of the battery; then, also remove the battery by disconnecting both terminals (positive and negative). At this point, disconnect the coolant hose, allowing it to drain into a container; now, unscrew the bolt of the thermostat to remove it, then install the new original one, following the video tutorial to the end!
