There is a manual procedure that allows you to reset the airbag warning light without the aid of any diagnostic instrument; this is a procedure that is carried out with a particular ignition and switch-off sequence of the ignition following the flashing of the airbag warning light itself; -1) turn on the ignition and turn off at the first flash of the airbag warning light, repeating the operation three times; -2) the fourth time, turn on the ignition and wait for the airbag warning light to flash 10 times, after which turn off the ignition and the next time it is turned on, the warning light will be off; obviously, if the warning light occurs again, it is advisable to check the nature of the fault with the diagnosis.

Replace the steering angle sensor on the Volkswagen Golf 5

When the steering angle sensor malfunction warning light comes on, it may need to be replaced as follows: first remove the steering wheel and the lower steering wheel guard by removing the three fixing screws. The steering sensor is located just below the steering column. To release it you need to have a small screwdriver and insert it into the hole on the front, push the screwdriver all the way down until the clips at the bottom are released. Next, pull down on the back of the card containing the sensor and disengage it from the steering column. At that point take the new card and reposition it, after which proceed backwards to reassemble the various components.
