Remove the nuts securing the battery hold-down bracket, then disconnect the negative terminal first, followed by the positive terminal. At this point, you can remove the battery from the compartment and place the new one in. Then, reattach the hold-down bracket nuts and reconnect the positive terminal first, followed by the negative terminal.
