How to Replace the Oil and Oil Filter on the Nissan Rogue Sport

To replace the oil and oil filter on the Nissan Rogue Sport, start by opening the oil fill cap and lifting the oil dipstick. Go under the vehicle and, using a 14 mm socket wrench, remove the oil drain plug and let the oil drain into a container. Once drained, clean the plug and the seating area, then reinstall it. Next, locate the oil filter, remove it with an appropriate wrench or pliers, allowing the oil to drain into a container. After the oil has drained, clean the seating area. Now take the new oil filter out of the packaging, apply new oil to the gasket, and reinstall it in its place. Move to the top of the engine, remove the oil fill cap, and pour in the specified quarts of oil using a funnel. When you are close to the indicated quarts, check the level with the dipstick (check the level a second time after removing the dipstick). If necessary, top off the oil; otherwise, if the oil is at the max mark, the operation is complete.
