Replacing the Engine Speed Sensor

Model: Vauxhall Corsa Corsa D - Years 2006-2014
Part: Crankshaft position sensor

A malfunctioning engine speed sensor can cause the engine to stall (especially at low revs) with difficulty restarting immediately after stalling; it generally restarts after the engine has cooled down a bit and is often confused with a fuel pump malfunction.
In any case, the fault is diagnosable via OBD, and the fault code description specifically states "engine speed sensor".
It is a spare part that is easily available in the aftermarket and is located on the gearbox, between the driveshaft and the starter motor.
To replace it, simply loosen the corresponding fixing bolt (10 Torx, can also be unscrewed with an 8 mm spanner) and remove it by disconnecting the connector attached to it.
Then apply the new sensor (the mounting position is fixed), tighten the fixing bolt, and reconnect the connector.
Check the proper starting of the engine.
