How to replace the steering wheel heads of an Opel Zafira

In this video we see how to replace the steering tie rods of an Opel Zafira: we lift the car and place it on jack stands, block the rear wheels with chocks, remove the front wheels, clean the bolts with a wire brush and WD-40, especially the ball joint nut on the ball joint. We mark the position of the tie rod on the coupling bar with a caliper, or count the number of thread turns. We loosen the locknut on the coupling bar, unscrew the ball joint nut, and separate the tie rod from the ball joint. Now we can screw in the new tie rod, keeping the same measured length (or the same number of turns). We screw on the nut by hand, then tighten to 70 Nm; tighten the locknut to 60 Nm. Treat the bolts with copper grease to prevent future seizing, clean the brake discs with a specific cleaner, then reassemble the wheels.
