How to remove the EGR valve from an Opel Astra? Lift the bonnet and secure it. Then, using a screwdriver, unscrew the locking pins of the ventilation pipe, and remove the soundproofing panel of the engine (if present). Start by unscrewing the fastening bolts of the EGR valve (if you encounter difficulties: lift the car with a jack and remove the part from underneath). Once the part is removed from its seat, unscrew the screws on it with a screwdriver. Clean the valve using a suitable product for cleaning mechanical parts, and use a brush to assist in the process (replace it if damaged). Reassemble everything after cleaning.
