How to Clean the Throttle Body of an Opel Corsa C

To perform this operation, disconnect the negative terminal of the battery: then unscrew the clamp of the hose with a 7 mm socket, disconnect the hose and unscrew the two nuts with a T30 Torx key to remove the small intake duct. The electrical connector of the throttle body is secured by two side clips: use a pin to lever on the clips and release them, then pull the connector. Using a T30 Torx key, unscrew the 4 bolts that secure the throttle body to the intake manifold, and remove it. Remember that the throttle body is water-cooled. In the video, the mechanic does not disconnect the coolant hoses but cleans the component without completely removing it: if you want to remove it entirely, you must disconnect the two hoses, so be careful of coolant spillage. Black carbon accumulates on the back of the throttle plate: use a specific spray (LiquiMoly on Amazon under code B00295DCTK for £20.00, with free delivery). Hold the throttle plate open with a finger (without forcing) and clean the edges and inside with a cloth or a soft brush. For testing the throttle position sensor (with an OBD2 scanner as shown in the video), connect the scanner, read the parameter "absolute Throttle position"; turn on the ignition and press the accelerator: the value should rise gradually from about 6/7% to 100% without drops or jumps.
