How to change engine oil and filter on an Opel Insignia? Follow this guide to proceed with the replacement. Open the car's door and pull up the engine compartment release lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard, then lift the bonnet and secure it. Using a socket spanner, loosen the large securing bolt of the container cap where the oil filter is located. Remove the oil filter from inside the container and position a new one. Lift the car on a jack and unscrew the bolt from the oil sump; allow the fluid to drain into a disposal container. Finally, top up with new fluid and close the bonnet.
