How to Change the Rear Brake Pads of an Opel Astra

Here’s how to replace the rear brake pads on an Opel Astra SW. Lift the car on a column lift (jack) to the desired height; then remove the wheel (using a socket wrench or air impact wrench) with the respective bolts. Unscrew the locking bolt of the brake caliper and remove it from the wheel hub. Use a screwdriver to detach the pads from the wheel hub caliper, and remove the brake caliper. Install the new pads onto the caliper, then mount the brake caliper with the support onto the brake disc. Tighten all the bolts and reinstall the wheel.
