Are the front pads due for replacement? Let's see how to replace the front pads on an Opel Astra. Lift the car on a column lift to the desired height, then remove the wheel (using a socket spanner or air drill) with the respective bolts. Unscrew the locking bolt of the brake caliper and remove it from the wheel hub. Use a screwdriver to detach the pads from the caliper of the wheel hub, then remove the brake caliper. Fit the new disc and the new pads onto the caliper, then attach the caliper to the brake disc. Refit the wheel with the bolts.
