How to Replace the Thermostat on Opel Astra

Is the thermostat on your Opel Astra damaged? Let's see how to remove it from the engine bay. Open the bonnet, disconnect the battery power connectors if you need to disconnect wires, etc. Unscrew the bolts on the thermostat housing cap as shown in the video (use a socket wrench with the appropriate sockets), pull off the sealing cap and extract the coolant thermostat from its housing. Install the new thermostat with the accompanying securing bolts. Refit the engine soundproofing panel and all associated parts. Start the car and check the operation of the component.
