Periodic Oil Level Check

Checking the oil level in the engine sump should be done at every fuel refill. This operation is very simple and takes only a few moments. Wait a few minutes after turning off the engine, then pull out the dipstick and clean it with a clean cloth. Reinsert the dipstick into the engine and pull it out again. Check the correct oil level on the end of the dipstick. If the level is too low, top up with the appropriate oil. Excessive oil consumption, often noticeable from thick smoke from the exhaust, may indicate a serious engine malfunction.
