Automatic Gearbox Oil Replacement
Model: Vauxhall Astra
Astra J
- Years 2009-2016
Before proceeding with the draining and replacement of the automatic gearbox oil, it is advisable to perform a cleaning using a specific additive: first, unscrew the filler (or level) plug of the gearbox and insert the additive. In the video, the procedure is carried out with specific equipment. Once the additive is inserted, screw the plug back on, start the engine, and engage all gears to allow the additive to circulate throughout the gears. Then proceed to drain the gearbox oil; screw the plugs back on. Next, intercept the oil inlet and return pipes to connect the equipment hoses: at this point, start the filling procedure of the gearbox with new oil, start the engine, and let all the used oil drain out, which will be replaced by the new oil; finally, add the additive and bring the gearbox oil to the correct level. Disconnect the device hoses and reconnect the original system hoses. Finally, check the gearbox oil level when hot. The video also shows the cleaning of the intake ducts with a specific spray, the insertion of the internal engine cleaning additive followed by oil replacement (plus additive), oil filter, and the replacement of the fuel, air, and cabin filters.
