On the inside of the tailgate there are two handles with a hex screw at one, which you must unscrew. Once this is done, you can remove the tailgate panel itself because, once the two screws have been removed, it is only in place by interlocking. Unscrew the two screws of the switch, then get out of the passenger compartment. Disconnect the connector as shown in the video and open the housing of the external switch with a screwdriver and replace it (also do some cleaning). Plug in the connector, put the panel back on and off you go.
