How to Change a Car Coil

The coil is one of the essential components of the car, as it raises the voltage from the 12 volts of the battery to the thousands of volts required by the spark plug to create a spark. Its role is to alternate the firing order of the air/fuel mixture and to regulate the spark of the spark plugs. One of the symptoms of a faulty coil is the car's jerky performance. This guide shows how to solve the problem and change the coil yourself. To remove the old coil, lift the bonnet and open the plastic grille by acting on the two side clips with a screwdriver. You need to remove the vapour recovery pipe by also disconnecting the connector with the yellow lever. At this point, remove the ignition control unit connector and unscrew the two securing bolts with a ratchet. After completing the operation, perform a function test.
