Cylinder Head Bolt Replacement

Model: Vauxhall Astra Astra G - Years 1998-2006
Part: Engine

When performing a repair that requires the removal of the cylinder head, it is important to use a new bolt kit for securing it, as the continuous thermal cycles and the stress from removal may have caused cracks that could lead to failure over time if not already during installation: attempting to remove a broken bolt is quite a challenge! After re-threading the holes, position the cylinder head with the new gasket and use the new bolt kit to secure it: before inserting the bolts, apply grease to the bottom of the thread and under the head; then tighten using a torque wrench and a calibrated wrench.
