To replace the handbrake gaiter on an Opel Astra, detach the retaining clips that secure the gaiter in its housing. Once the clips are loosened, you can slide the old gaiter off the top of the gear lever to insert a new one. The new gaiter should be positioned from the top of the lever and secured to the base of its housing using the clips. After installation, check that the handbrake is functioning correctly.
