Steering Box Tie Rod End Replacement

If the wheel exhibits play and noise, especially when driving on uneven surfaces, it is likely that the issue is due to the failure of the spherical joint of the tie rod end of the steering box. Its replacement is straightforward and does not require special tools. Lift the vehicle on a hydraulic lift, remove the front wheel, and locate the tie rod end. Spray some penetrating oil on the tie rod end's fastening nut and the lock nut present on the tie rod. Before loosening the tie rod end nut, it is advisable to loosen the one on the axial joint. Proceed to remove the fastening nut of the tie rod end, extract it from its seat, and unscrew it from the axial joint, noting the number of turns. Then, screw in the new tie rod end the same number of turns to maintain the alignment, secure it to the hub by tightening the corresponding nut, and lock the lock nut.
