Changing the battery in the key of the 2016 Opel Astra K is a very simple task that can be done in a few steps. The type of battery required is a CR 2032 3V. The first step is to press the button on top of the key to extract the metal key. While holding the remote with one hand, remove the plastic cover using a screwdriver to gently lever it off. As soon as you see the battery, it is important to continue removing the plastic with your hands to avoid damaging the remote. Using a mini screwdriver, remove the battery and place the new one in. Now you can safely start the reverse process to close the remote.
