What to do if the engine warning light comes on in a Peugeot 107

In this video, you can see a Peugeot 107 with the engine warning light on; diagnosis is not necessary, but there are power loss issues and difficulty in the engine revving up, indicating a problem in the ignition system of one of the cylinders. Remove the air filter box to access the coils, each with its own electronics; the fault will likely be in one of these that has burnt out. An empirical method is to connect them one at a time, leaving the other two connected.

When performing this test, replace the air filter to prevent the engine from sucking in anything. Once the faulty one is identified, remove it. The diagnostic system is then illustrated using a tester.

At this point, the spark plugs are also changed, but this must be done with the engine cold, or you will damage the threads. For reassembly, a clever method is suggested to avoid losing the clip that holds the spark plug for its reinstallation.

Then, replace the air filter. To reset the error, on this vehicle, it is sufficient to disconnect the negative terminal for at least 15 minutes and then reconnect it. (Keep the radio code handy).
