How do you replace the gear knob and gear lever gaiter in a Peugeot 206?

Changing the gear knob and gear lever gaiter on this type of car is a simple job but it requires a bit of patience. Pull the old knob upwards firmly, maybe with a decisive tap. Then remove the gaiter, usually it is stuck in the plastic frame, so lift it gently using a screwdriver as a lever. Take the new gaiter and slide it onto the lever making sure it fits well. Finally, mount the new knob, push it firmly until it feels secure. Check that everything is stable and that everything works. If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, contact a professional workshop.
