Start by removing the gear lever gaiter using a flat-head screwdriver. As you pull the gaiter from the base of the knob, the knob itself will come off as well. Once this is done, cut the clip that secures the gaiter to the knob, and then remove the worn knob from the gaiter. At this point, insert the new knob into the top of the gaiter, securing it with a clip placed inside. After completing this step, refit the knob by reversing the disassembly steps, and you will have successfully replaced the gear knob.
