Let's see what are the main problems of the sliding doors of the Peugeot 1007: the most common is the electrical problem, where the dedicated control unit loses the memory of the position of the doors. This happens when the battery is discharged or disconnected, and the door actuators lose their functionality. A reset must be done by disconnecting the battery for about twenty minutes (keep the radio code handy). After reconnecting the battery, we must turn the ignition back on and press the opening/closing button several times to re-educate the system. But it can also be a mechanical problem, as the control cables (the steel cables that pull the door) can slip or break, and the tracks can get dirty or obstructed: a thorough cleaning is the best solution and use a dry silicone lubricant (do not use oil or grease, which attract dirt). Another problem can be the transmission belt that transmits the movement from the motor to the door, and it can slip or break. Here the belt must be replaced, and it is a complex job that requires the intervention of a professional. Another problem: the limit sensors that tell the control unit if the door is open or closed may be faulty. Just replace them.
