How do you replace the front shock absorbers in a Peugeot 208 1?

To replace the front shock absorbers of your Peugeot 208, first place the car on a safe level surface and lift it with a jack, then remove the wheel. Once there, unscrew the bolts holding the suspension to the hub and then those in the upper part, in the engine compartment. Remove the entire shock absorber-spring assembly and, if you have a spring compressor, use it to separate the two pieces. Install the new shock absorber in the reverse order, first putting back the compressed spring, then carefully screw everything back in place. Check the tightening torque carefully and put the wheel back on. When you have finished on both sides, it is good practice to check the alignment. If you do not feel confident, rely on a mechanic: it is better to take it slow than to make a mistake on such an important thing.
