How to Replace the Rear Shock Absorbers of the Peugeot 208

Today, you will learn how to replace the rear shock absorbers of the Peugeot 208. The first step is to loosen the bolts of the right rear wheel before lifting the vehicle. Using a 17mm socket, completely unscrew the bolts and remove the wheel.

The second step is to unscrew and remove the fasteners of the wheel arch using a T20 Torx key and pliers for clamps. The third step is to detach the fasteners of the plastic cover protecting the rear axle.

The fourth step is to use a hydraulic jack to support the transmission crossmember. The fifth step is to unscrew the fasteners of the shock absorbers using a 16mm socket.

Tighten the shock absorber elements with an E18 socket. Remove the fastening bolts and take out the shock absorber.

Then proceed with the installation by reversing the procedure.
