How to Unlock the Automatic Gearbox on a Peugeot 3008

The procedure described is an emergency measure: once unlocked, the gearbox will not automatically lock in "P" when the car is turned off, so you must engage the handbrake to prevent the vehicle from moving. The most common cause of the lock is a battery or control unit failure. Near the gear lever, you should see a tab or a small plastic cover. Lift it to access the unlock hole and insert a suitable tool: a socket wrench, a flathead screwdriver, or a sturdy object that fits into the hole (as shown in the video). Apply slight pressure and turn clockwise: you will feel resistance. While maintaining pressure and rotation on the tool, press the brake and, with the other hand, press the button on the gear lever and shift from "P" to "N". At this point, the gearbox is unlocked.
