Let's see what ECO mode means and how it works on a Peugeot 307: the message "economy mode active" is not a fault but a battery protection feature. It activates automatically when electrical devices are used with the engine off; after a certain time, the system disconnects these electrical loads to prevent completely draining the battery and leaving you stranded. When the function is active, all non-essential electrical functions are automatically turned off, entering a low consumption state. To deactivate it, simply start the engine. If the message appears too frequently, the battery may be weak or old, the alternator may be faulty, or an electrical component could be causing parasitic drain even when the car is off.
