To replace the battery in the key fob of a third generation Peugeot 308, first, release the integrated mechanical key by activating the relevant button on the fob. Once the key is extracted, locate the slot on the casing and insert a small flat screwdriver to detach the cover of the battery compartment.

Lift the cover and remove the dead battery from its compartment.

The Peugeot 308 III uses a CR2032 3V battery. Insert the new battery, ensuring the correct polarity is followed, starting with positioning it on the contacts in the corner of the compartment, then close the cover until it clicks.
