To replace the battery in a Peugeot 301, it is advisable to use a memory saver that connects to the OBD2 and maintains power while changing the battery to save settings. Remove the plastic cover and disconnect the negative terminal first, then the positive terminal. Remove the mounting bracket by unscrewing the two screws and lift the battery out using its handle. Take this opportunity to clean the cable terminals and the battery tray with a dry cloth. If they are heavily oxidized, use a wire brush. Place the new battery in the tray, reinstall the mounting bracket, and tighten the screws securely. Connect the negative terminal, apply a small amount of silicone grease, and replace any protective covers.
