How to Replace the Remote Battery of the Peugeot RCZ?

The remote for the Peugeot RCZ is similar to many others from Peugeot, so this procedure is applicable to other models as well. The battery inside the remote is a CR1620 type, a standard button cell battery costing just a few pence. To carry out the procedure, you need a flathead screwdriver: obtain this before starting. First, extend the key blade and then turn the key to locate the small slot at the bottom, right at the end. Insert the screwdriver into the slot and lever apart the two halves of the remote. Open it up, and using the same screwdriver, remove the chip without touching the circuits. Extract the battery, replace it with a new one, and reassemble everything.
