- Years 1998-2012 In order to replace the cigarette lighter of the Peugeot 206, first, you need to open the hood and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. Then, going inside the cabin, you will need to release the clips that secure the gear shift boot so that you can access its housing. By levering inside with your hands, you can remove the cigarette lighter and the orange sheath that surrounds it by disconnecting the device. After removing it, you can insert the new sheath into its housing, connecting the new cigarette lighter to the connector, and reinserting the gear shift boot.
