How to Change the Gearbox Oil on a Peugeot 108 (also applicable to Toyota Aygo and Citroen C1)

The procedure described for the Peugeot 108 also applies to the Toyota Aygo and Citroen C1. You need to get underneath the vehicle, and using a 24mm socket, unscrew the large bolt that will allow you to drain the oil. Naturally, you will need to have a suitable container to collect the used oil, which you will then dispose of at an authorised centre. Allow all the oil to drain completely, then replace the washer and bolt. Now, you need to top up the oil; you will need a funnel and a flexible tube that goes directly into its hole. Use 75W80 oil. As soon as a drop of oil comes out, you are there; it takes about 1.7 litres. Clean up any residues and replace the cap; there’s no need to over-tighten it. Clean with metal cleaner, and you are done.
