How to Change Engine Oil and Filter on the Peugeot 206 2.0 HDi

Changing the engine oil and its filter is classic DIY maintenance, but it is important to dispose of waste properly at designated collection centres. Start by accessing the lower part of the engine to unscrew the oil drain plug located at the rear of the sump, in the central position. Once the oil has drained, refit the plug using a new copper or aluminium washer. Next, locate the oil filter next to the battery and unscrew it using the appropriate strap wrench. Apply some oil to the gasket of the new filter, screw it in by hand, and then fill the engine with clean oil up to the maximum level.
