To replace the battery of a Dodge Ram key, start by taking the remote key and locating the small slot on the edge of the key shell. Using a small flathead screwdriver or another thin, flat object, gently insert it into the slot to pry and separate the two halves of the key. Once opened, you will have access to the battery housed in the center of the circuit. Carefully remove the old battery, making sure to note its position, especially the polarity. It is important to install the new battery correctly, with the positive side facing the same direction as the original battery. Insert the new battery, usually a CR2032, and make sure it is securely in place. After replacing the battery, close the two halves of the key shell, pressing until you hear a "click" indicating it has been properly closed. Once done, test the key to ensure the new battery is functioning correctly and that all remote functions, such as door opening and closing, are operational.
