To replace the rear shock absorber on the Ram 1500, lift the vehicle so that the rear wheels are not in contact with the ground. At this point, loosen the bolts that secure the wheel and completely remove it, then unscrew the bolts that secure the inner fender cover. This will allow access to the bolts that secure the shock absorber; unscrew them completely and remove the part from its housing. After removal, insert the new replacement part and reassemble all previously removed components.
