In this guide, remove the starter motor from a Renault Scenic 1.5 dCi MK2. First, disconnect the battery from its housing to create space for accessing the component. Next, remove the base where the battery sits and the connector that links it to the ECM system.

This will allow access to the starter motor. Then, remove a 10 mm bolt and an 8 mm bolt located near a flexible pipe.

After that, remove two 30 mm bolts, which may be difficult to reach, and at that point, the starter motor will be free from its mounting.
