The new Renault Captur is equipped with an emergency braking system. The emergency braking system works through a radar located on the front dashboard of the vehicle that is capable of recognizing the exact position of our car and the distance from the vehicle in front of us. Depending on the model, the emergency braking system can recognize cyclists and pedestrians in front of the vehicle. If, due to the driver's inattention, the camera detects a risk of collision, a warning is issued to try to avoid the danger, but in an emergency situation, the system itself will activate, triggering the brakes or even turning off the vehicle. The system activates automatically when the vehicle is turned on; however, if the driver wishes to deactivate the system, it will be necessary to turn on the onboard computer and select the control panel option E from the assistance menu, pressing the active braking option to deactivate it. When driving at a speed of 780 km/h or higher, the vehicle can decide whether to stop or to maneuver around the obstacle. In an emergency, it is important to keep the radar and camera clean, especially during rain.
