How to change the rear shock absorbers of the Renault Megane.

On the Renault Mégane, the work starts in a classic way: the vehicle is lifted at the rear, and work is done on the wheel by loosening and then removing the bolts to take off the wheel and free access to the suspension. Once visible, the rear shock absorber can be seen clearly connected at the bottom to the axle and, above, to its support. Before removing the shock absorber, the area of the axle on the Renault Mégane is supported with a jack, so when the lower fastening is unscrewed, everything does not remain under tension. In the video, work is done on the lower bolt, and once it is loosened, the shock absorber is freed from the lower seat. For the upper fastening, the tutorial shows access from the inside: the trunk is opened, and work is done in the internal area behind the lining, where the upper part of the shock absorber is reached. From there, the nut of the upper support is unscrewed, and the shock absorber can be removed. After taking out the old one, the new shock absorber is shown still in its packaging, then the focus returns to the Renault Mégane for installation: the new piece is brought into position, first the upper part is placed in its fastening point, and then the lower part is realigned on the axle, using the jack until the hole matches. At that point, the lower bolt is reinserted and tightened, and then the upper fastening is also closed from the trunk. Once the replacement is complete, the wheel is reattached to the Renault Mégane, and the car is brought back to the ground, with a final visual check to ensure that the shock absorber and fastenings are correctly in place.
