To adjust the handbrake on a Renault Clio, you will need to pry with an object to completely detach the trim panel located at the rear of the centre tunnel, just behind the corresponding lever: once this panel is removed, you will be able to locate the nut that adjusts the handbrake tension. Once you tighten the nut, you will notice that the lever becomes stiffer and has a shorter travel; conversely, you can loosen the nut to make the lever lighter and increase its travel.
