How to Replace the Fuel Pump on a Renault Clio II

Model: Renault Clio Clio 2, MK 2 - Years 1998-2005

The fuel pump in Renault Clio II vehicles is mounted inside the tank, which in the petrol version is accessed from the cabin by lifting the rear seat and removing the access cover. To replace it, disconnect the negative battery terminal and remove the rear seat. Unclip the cover to access the pump hatch. Disconnect the electrical connector of the pump and the fuel lines using a flat-head screwdriver. Using a socket screwdriver, unscrew the locking ring of the pump and slowly extract it, being careful of the float. Insert the new pump and install the new gasket. Reconnect the fuel lines and the electrical connector. Close the hatch cover and reinstall the rear seat. Reconnect the negative terminal to the battery and start the vehicle to test the new pump's operation.
