How to Change the Engine Oil and Filter in a Renault Espace

To change the engine oil and filter on a Renault Espace IV, park the vehicle on a level surface and lift it. Place a tray under the engine and remove the oil filler cap located at the top. Access the sump and unscrew the drain plug to allow the used oil to drain out. When the flow has stopped, reinstall the plug. Locate the oil filter, remove it with the appropriate tool, and clean the mounting surface before installing the replacement. Apply a small amount of new oil to the filter seal and screw it on until properly tightened. Then, pour the new oil from the upper filler neck in the amount specified for the installed engine. After checking the level, start the engine for a few seconds and check for leaks around the filter or drain plug, finally performing a last check of the oil level.
