How to change the gear knob on a Renault Megane. First, use a plastic lever to disconnect the leather gaiter frame (release the clips); grasp the knob with both hands and pull it upwards (a firm and decisive movement) until it comes off the gear stick. For reassembly: fit the new gaiter and position it on the stick located on the centre console, take the new knob and push it onto the stick, tightening it until it locks in place. Finally, test the movement of the stick on the centre console to ensure the knob is correctly fitted.
