Let's see how to remove the gear knob and the protective gaiter from the top of the centre tunnel on a Renault Megane. Grip the knob and pull it upwards until it detaches from the rod, then use a plastic lever to remove the leather gaiter with the associated frame from the edge of the centre tunnel. For reassembly, take the gaiter with the plastic frame and fit it onto the rod on the centre tunnel, then fit the new knob and secure it until locked. Secure the plastic frame above the centre tunnel in all its parts. Check the previously fitted plastics.
