What to Do if the Airbag Warning Light Comes On

This tutorial describes two scenarios for the airbag warning light coming on in a Renault Clio. A common cause for the light to illuminate is due to the pretensioner connector under the passenger seat becoming loose, causing a fault. To address this, disconnect the battery and wait at least 30 minutes before starting work. Then disconnect the connections under the seat. First, cut the pretensioner wires one at a time. Then the wires should be soldered together; this will mean that the connector will no longer be used, but instead, you will have a better connection. Another cause of the airbag warning light is a malfunction of the airbag ECU. In this case, you need to analyse the ECU itself, which requires removing the cup holder and the centre console first. While removing the cup holder, it may be visible that sticky liquid (coffee or other drinks) could have caused the problem. Upon removing the centre console, it is evident that the issue was caused by a spillage. Now remove the ECU using a 10 mm socket to take out the three securing bolts and disconnect it. Finally, clean the ECU connector thoroughly with a cloth.

How to Reset the Central Locking of the Volkswagen Golf 4?
