Checking Car Brake Discs

Model: Renault Megane Megane 1 - Years 1995-2003
Part: Checks and maintenance

If your car exhibits braking system issues, such as noise when pressing the brake pedal, stop the vehicle immediately and check the braking system, which may be worn and require replacement. Stop the car with the wheels straight, take a jack, and lift it to begin unscrewing the wheel retaining bolts. Once the wheel is removed, the hub is exposed, so first disconnect the cable holding the pads and then the one holding the brake caliper. Once done, the caliper can be completely removed. Only then can you access the pads and check their wear condition.
