Follow these steps to replace the rear brake discs on a Renault Megane II: first, open the front bonnet and remove the brake fluid cap. Loosen the bolts on the rear wheels, then lift the vehicle and support it on axle stands to ensure it doesn't fall. Place the removed wheel under the vehicle for safety. Now, use a wire brush to clean the brake caliper. Apply some WD-40 as well. Unscrew the caliper attachment and remove it, securing it with a wire to the suspension or bodywork (not to the brake hose) to avoid depressurising the system. Using a rubber mallet, install the hub nut cover. Clean the brake caliper support from dirt and dust before refitting it. Refit the brake pads and then mount the caliper using a torque wrench. Now, press the brake pedal until you feel significant resistance. Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim with copper grease, while the surface of the disc should be treated with a specific cleaner.
