Here’s how to change the brake pads on a Renault Megane IV. You can find them on Amazon with code B07JFV12C5 for £40.16 with free delivery in 6 days: open the brake fluid reservoir cap, loosen the wheel nuts, lift the front of the car, and then remove the wheel. Turn the steering wheel to gain good access to the caliper, then insert a screwdriver into the caliper slot to retract the piston: this will create space for the new, thicker pads. Using a 17mm spanner, unscrew the upper and lower guide bolts that secure the caliper to its bracket, then tie the flexible hose to a spring on the shock absorber with string to avoid stressing it. Remove the old pads, apply a light coating of copper grease to the sliding edges of the new pads, and install them in place. Check that the guide bolts slide well and that the seals are intact. Refit the caliper and repeat the entire process on the other side. Close the brake fluid reservoir cap, lower the car, and refit the wheels. Before driving, pump the brake pedal several times until it regains its resistance.
