How to Manually Open the Tailgate Lock on a Renault Twingo

If a Renault Twingo has a flat battery, even if you use the key, you will not be able to open the tailgate, as it is connected to the central locking system. Access the rear seats and fold down the back seat: remove the parcel shelf for better access inside. Now, with a small screwdriver, push the red rod visible inside the lock to the right. By pushing upwards on the tailgate, it will open. This is an emergency procedure to access the tailgate. The proper solution in this case is to replace the battery, but this method works well for emergencies.
