Replacing the Auxiliary Belt

Model: Renault Megane Megane 1 - Years 1995-2003

To replace the auxiliary belt, it is advisable to remove the front right wheel to facilitate access to the pulleys: first, loosen the wheel fixing bolts before lifting the vehicle, then place the vehicle on an axle stand and remove the wheel; next, remove the plastic wheel arch liner and the plastic protection cover (three bolts are removed from underneath and one accessed from the engine bay); then remove the tensioner and slide the belt off the pulleys; fit the new belt (compare it with the old one) ensuring it follows the path between the pulleys and tension it using the tensioner. Finally, reattach the cover, the wheel arch liner, and the wheel itself.
